Summary
Candlestick. One of a set of four George III silver table candlesticks, on cusped and domed circular bases with ovolo borders and a band of chased shells and panels of blossom below a band of reeding. The baluster stem has one knop rising from foliate bases and is chased with panels of scalework on a matted ground, the vase- shaped sockets with panels of blossom and fluting; detachable nozzles with guilloche rims. Engraved on the bases with the arms of Yorke impaling Cust. Ebenezer Coker, 1772.
