Caption
This beautiful caster was inherited by the Yorkes from wider family. It was made in 1715 by leading silversmith Simon Pantin, but did not arrive at Erddig until the end of the 18th century
Summary
Caster. George I large plain pear-shaped silver caster on a moulded spreading foot, a rib around the body, the tall dome cover pierced with panels of vases and foliage. Vase finial. The arms of Hutton impaling another in a foliate cartouche, and Yorke crest on the body. Bayonet joints to cover. Simon Pantin, London 1715.
