Summary
Plinth. A square ebonised plinth with moulded base and plaque for presentation cup. Daniel Smith and Robert Sharp, 1787. Inscription '8th Aug.1879 / Presented by the Corps to Captain Yorke of Erddig / Commanding Officer from 1862 to 1879 / Aug. 26th 1879 (on rectangular plaque on plinth) Motto with arms 'Nil Desperandum'.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
