Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Still Life of Fruit (from a Portfolio of oil sketches), possibly Simon Yorke IV (1903-1966). A page containing assorted still life studies of fruit. The larger still life is a study of an arrangement of nectarines or plums, cherries, a melon and oranges sitting upon a white cloth against a dark background. The other large study is of two nectarines or plums and cherries. The cherries are still attached to a branch. Unframed.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
