Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Chilton Foliat, near Hungerford, possibly Philip Yorke II (1849-1922). Snow scene with houses either side of the road, horse and trap in the middle of the road. Chilton Foliat in Wiltshire was the parish of Reverend Thomas James Scott (d. 1907) who was the father of Louise Matilda Scott, who married Philip Yorke II (1849 - 1922) in 1902.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
