Summary
Print, engraving -The North East View of the Church of St Giles, Wrexham, Denbigh by John Boydell I (Dorrington 1719 – Cheapside, London 1804). Plate dedicated to Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn. The church is considered to be the greatest medieval church in Wales and has a colourful ceiling of flying musical angels, two early eagle lecyterns, a window by Edward Burne-Jones. In the graveyard is the tomb of Elihu Yale who was the benefactor of Yale University.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
