Summary
Skating boot. A pair of black leather mens' skating boots (only one brown lace present) with ice skate blades screwed to the heel and sole. The blade is marked 'THE MONIER-WILLIAMS SKATE, MANUFACTURED BY JOHN WILSON PORTLAND WORKS, SHEFFIELD J.W.S' and also '11 1/2' together with the corporate mark.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
