Summary
Skating boot. A pair of brown leather ladies' skating boots with leather laces and steel ice skate blades screwed to the heel and sole. The shoe is marked 'F.BANKS & Son 37 Spring Gardens BUXTON' and 'Cinderella Registered'. The blade is marked 'THE MONIER-WILLIAMS SKATE' with 'TRADE MARK', and also '9 1/2 Manufactured by John Wilson Portland Works Sheffield' with the corporate mark.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
