Summary

Weights set. The outermost of a set of eleven bucket-shaped bronze concentric 'standard' weights and measures. The circular hinged cover has an inscription and opens to reveal other weights. Inscribed 'For the use of John Meller Esqr. anno 1716'.

Provenance

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
