Summary
Clock bracket. A bracket for a Regency period Boulle bracket clock by Nicholas De Lannay, Paris; the tortoiseshell veneered case inlaid with brass in Berainesque designs, of rectangular form; the cast and chased ormolu mounts include gesturing female terminal figures, a putto astride an eagle, Juno in a chariot; with a circular enamel dial. The bracket en suite is inscribed 'Marchand'.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
