Summary
A mahogany cartonnier or bank of drawers (possibly from a secretaire), English, circa 1800. The rectangulat top with triple-reeded edge above a crossbanded frieze with applied double reed to its bottom edge. Fitted with three graduated rows of two drawers. The drawer fronts veneered in fiddleback mahogany, cockbeaded and fitted with a pair of turned mahogany knobs, brass keyhole escutcheons and locks. The carcase of softwood and oak.

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
