Summary
A painted kneading trough, probably of elm, Welsh or English, late 18th/early 19th century. With arched ends pierced with carry handles, and splayed sides. Raised on a later black-painted stand of four square-section legs joined by stretchers.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
