Summary
A mahogany dining table end, English, circa 1760, part of a set with another 'D'-shaped end and a drop-leaf central section. Of very fine mahogany, the underside of the top with a 'combed' finish, the marks of a toothing plane, and with rounded edge. The frieze with bottom edge beading and raised on four square-section legs with internal stop chamfers. The underside of the top fitted with brass catches.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
