Summary
A mahogany architect's or drawing table, English, circa 1770. Altered, and many of the interior fittings removed. One front leg and several castors lacking. The cleated, hinged top above a front faced as a drawer with Rococo brass handle and backplates, pulling out with the front legs to reveal an interior lined with green cloth or baize, and with evidence of other fittings. The legs with chamfers and remains of iron and leather castors.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
