Summary
A breakfront triple wardrobe, English, circa 1870, part of a good quality near set of figured walnut bedroom furniture comprising a dressing table [NT 1147153.2], a washstand [NT 1147153.3] and a chest of drawers [NT 1147153.4.]. Of figured walnut, and with ebonized mouldings. Topped by a moulded cornice and with three doors, all with a central panel edged with ebonised mouldings and with re-entrant top corners. The corners of the wardrobe with engaged corner columns with ebonised ring turnings. The central door panelled with mirror glass and enclosing five sliding trays and three drawers with lacquered brass handles. The left-hand cupboard enclosing a front-to-back sliding rail and pegs, with a drawer below; the right-hand cupboard enclosing a conforming rail and pegs above a compartment with fall front. All raised on a plinth base.

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
