Summary
Medicine bottle woth cork stopper. A glass medicine bottle with a cork stopper and a paper label on the front listing the contents, usages and manufacturer of the contents. There are two small white pills in the bottle.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.

On top of the cork: CHINA [...] Paper label on the front of the bottle: {in red} CHINA OFFICINALIS / [in black] PRINCIPAL USES - Debility; simple fever, / with prostration; ague; intermittent neuralgia; diarrhoea early in the morning / or after meals; irritability of nervous system. / DOSE - 3 PILULES or 3 drops of TINCTURE; / to be repeated every two, four, or six hours, / according to the severity of the symptoms. / For the Child, 1 Pipule or 1 drop of Tincture.
