Summary
A mahogany travelling desk, English, mid- to late 18th century. The fixed top board with a low three-quarter gallery behind a hinged slope lined to the exterior with baize and fitted to the interior with divisions forming five pigeonholes. All above a line-beaded drawer [NT 1147065.2] fitted with brass axe-head handles and with brass thread escutcheons. With base moulding. Each end with a brass carry handle and backplate.

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
