Summary
A mahogany cellaret, or gardevin, English, circa 1770, raised on a stand [NT 1147043.2]. The hinged lid with moulded edge and applied beading enclosing a compartment fitted for six bottle. Fitted with a brass thread escutcheon and brass bale carry handles with brass backplates.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
