Summary
A mahogany dining room pedestal, English, circa 1760-70. The stepped and moulded top hinged and enclosing an interior fitted with a lead-lined and divided bottle compartment for nine bottles. All enclosed by a door topped by a fluted frieze, carved with a central patera and with applied panel 'beading' with concave corners each with a rosette, and enclosing a shelf. On a plinth base. The door with brass handle. The rear panelled with softwood.

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
