Summary
A mahogany and inlaid fold-over card table, English, early 19th century, one of a pair [the other NT 1146989.1]. Veneered in well-figured mahogany, and rectangular with rounded front corners. The brass-hinged top leaf folding open to reveal a baize-lined interior. The front frieze fitted with a central drawer, inlaid to its front with a lozenge of burr-yew veneer within satinwood and ebony lines. The sides and rear board of the drawer of oak, the baseboards of softwood. The frieze to either side with satinwood and ebony-edged rectangular reserves. The legs topped by an ovoid turning, and reeding and tapering below. The rear legs hinged in the frieze and opening to support the top when open.

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
