Summary
Sconce. One of a pair of large, George I sconces by John Pardoe, 1720; slender outer and inner frames in gilt gesso carved with rosettes, the outer with scrolls above and below; crestings of scroll outline with eagle- heads turned in, grounds carved with scroll leaf and flowersprays, with stiff plume centres; cusped aprons with shells, plumes and leaf; two plates; glass borders; two scroll glass arms + pans and nozzles (orig.four).
