Summary
Watercolour. A watercolour drawing on vellum with gilt highlights depicting the Coat of Arms of John Meller and inscribed 'The Arms and Crest of Mr John Meller, London Barrister at Law, Son and Heir of Mr John Meller late of the City of London and sometime also of Little Longston within the parish of Bakewell in the county of Derby, dec'd Son and Heir of Mr John Meller ....Son of another Mr John Meller of Little Longston as aforesaid and extracted from the Ancient Family of Mellor or Meller at a Place adjacent in the same County. Widnefs my Hand this 3rd Day of July, 1707 Banbrugh Cla-King of Arms (signature). Set in a moulded, stained pearwood frame.
