Summary
Porcelain figure. An early Bow porcelain figure of a shepherd, by the Muses Modeller; in white, standing, leaning against a tree stump, his right arm raised above his head, his dog reaching up at his side, a recumbent lamb on the scroll base, Stratford-le-Bow, East London.

The figure was published in Frank Hurlbutt, 'Bow Porcelain', London, 1926, pl. 7, ‘by kind permission of Mrs. Yorke of Erthig’. Note a polychrome enamelled version is in the British Museum, 1940,1101.1.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
