Summary
Portait miniature, tempera on paper, An Unknown Man in Armour called Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex (1566-1601) (possibly after Isaac Oliver) by British (English) School, late 17th century. Oval. Head and shoulders portrait turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, wearing armour and a square falling lace collar. Grey eyes, thick brown hair, fair moustache pointed beard, pale face aged about 30. Plain blue background.
