A cabinet on stand, probably English circa 1675, veneered with Coromandel lacquer, on a carved and gilded stand. The two doors and the sides of the cabinet are veneered with sheets of Coromandel lacquer, incised in various colours depicting watery landscapes with huntsmen, within a border of dragons and scrolls. The pair of doors open to an interior decorated in raised japanned work with gilded and various colours on a black background, fitted with eleven drawers. the cabinet is raised on a stand supported by scroll legs carved with acanthus leaves and flowers terminated in out-scroll feet, joined to the front by a large fore-rail centred by a cherub holding foliate garlands. Possibly the cabinet on stand listed in the Museum Room (above the Chapel) in the 1683 inventory.
