Summary
A grained pine low enclosed dresser, English, early 19th century. The cupboard centred by a pair of cupboard doors between two banks of three drawers. The uppermost drawer on the proper right end false, and fronting compartments accessed by means of two hinged sections to the top. The dresser's ends of fielded panels. With base moulding and bracket feet. The drawers with dust beading.
Provenance
By descent until, following the death of Edward William Spencer Cavendish, 10th Duke of Devonshire (1895 - 1950), Hardwick Hall and its contents were accepted by HM Treasury in part payment of death duties and transferred to the National Trust, in 1959.
