Summary
One of a pair of green-glazed (copper oxide) earthenware pitchers - red-coloured clay body, narrow at foot, swelling in centre below tall diminishing neck. Straight handle with sharp top angle. Applied loop decoration on front. Some matt overglaze painting (?originally gilt) - a vase and leaf fronds; Turkey, Canakkale, c. 1850-1900. Paper label underneath, acquired in Constantinople.
