Summary
One of two identical internal compartment lids from a sandalwood, ivory and metal sadeli ware box, probably Mumbai, circa 1850-75, (NT11133.1). Originally fitted with a metal ring handle in the centre, now broken, decorated with a mosaic border as well as a strips one of these carrying a flower-chain motif.
