Summary
The largest of six internal compartment lids from a sandalwood, ivory and metal sadeli ware box, probably Mumbai, circa 1850-75, (NT11133.1). Fitted with a metal ring handle in the centre and decorated with a mosaic border as well as a six-point star motif in each corner, under the handle and around the handle circumference.
