Summary
Silvered Election Rally medallion with likenesses of Lord Randolph Churchill M.P. and Colonel Fred Burnaby, by W.O. Lewis, c. 1885 with a hole drilled at the circumference . Accompanied by a piece of red "B.C.A." embroidered ribbon and a ms. letter to WSC from Geo. R. Mead 28/7/39(?). Formerly part of the Heirloom Collection.
Full description
note Frederick Burnaby was the second conservative candidate for Birmingham.nd03/04/2012 Geo. R. Mead is possibly Sir Richard Geoffrey Meade, consul general at Dusseldorf in 1957. There is a letter from him to Churchill concerning the 1956 Karlspreis or Charlemagne award in the Churchill Archive. There are two similar medals on loan in the collection (V119 & V220). This is the only one that could have been worn.
