Summary
Design for an encased organ showing the front. Inscribed in ink above drawing: "Design of an organ for the Right Honble The Lord Scarsdale". Scale in feet and inches. Signed and dated: "Robt Adam Architect 1762". Above organ in pencil: "Si placeo, tuum est.", possibly part of a quotation from Horace's Ode IV.3.24 ("Quod spiro et placeo si placeo tuum est"). Edges cut. Watermark: IHS with cross, IVilledary underneath. Formerly in "Sections of Rooms at Kedleston" [CMS inv. no. 109428], p. [79]. See also CMS inv. no. 109480.
