Summary
Three-arch bridge by Michael Henry Spang (fl. c.1750 -d.London 1762). A bridge with three arches, probably intended as a design for a bridge in the park at Kedleston. Backed with a sheet of paper. Watermark: lower half of unidentified watermark, which may be in the backing paper. Signed and dated: "MH Spang fecit 1758" in right lower corner; "Spang fecit" in left lower corner.
Provenance
Created by Michael Henry Spang, probably for Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Baron Scarsdale. By descent to Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale. Acquired by gift as part of the transfer of Kedleston Hall to the National Trust in 1987.
