Summary
Design of a wall with fireplace containing ornaments, two sketched and coloured paintings above it; with partly coloured frames on one side of the fire place and pencil outline sketches of frames on the other side. The frames are measured and the paintings are identified. Four chairs underneath the coloured frames. Watermark: Strasbourg lily.

Attributed to James "Athenian" Stuart for Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Baron Scarsdale. By descent to Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale. Acquired by gift as part of the transfer of Kedleston Hall to the National Trust in 1987.
