Summary
Sicilian Jasper, Wine Cooler, Italian School, c.1757. A large oval wine cooler of veined red and yellow Sicilian Jasper, with oak plank liner to base, late 17th-early 18th century. Purchased in Rome in in 1757 by the sculptor Richard Hayward and supplied to Kedleston in 1758 at a cost of £21.2s.0d.
