Summary
One of a set of four George III bronzed cast iron and plaster altars, two of which are stoves. This one is in the South-West alcove and depicts a man with a ewer, goat and boy. This is one of the false stoves.
Provenance
Purchased in 1987 by the National Trust from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000).
