Summary
A provincial oak bureau cabinet, English, late 18th / early 19th century. Reputedly used by George Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Viscount Scarsdale in his room at Eton College. The top section with a pair of paneled cupboard doors enclosing shelves, the lower with a fall fitted with drawers and pidgeon holes abobve three drawers and raised on bracket feet. Bearing a hand written paper label to the inside of the top section 'oak cupboard (from old school room) entered in list of heirlooms'

Gifted to the National Trust in 1986 by Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000).
