Summary
A giltwood cheval firescreen, English, circa 1700. With a gros point and petit point needlework panel depicting a harvest scene of figures in a landscape within a floral border. The frame carved and pierced with foliage and scrolling decoration raised on cheval supports tied by a stretcher.
Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
