Summary
White marble, painted plasterwork, brass and steel, veined marble, the eastern Marble Hall fireplace, George Richardson (c. 1738-1813), c. 1775-8. The eastern fireplace in the Marble Hall at Kedleston, one of a pair (see NT NT 108016.1), designed by George Richardson. Comprised of marble chimneypiece probably carved by the Derby sculptor George Moneypenny (fl. 1740-1807), plasterwork probably made by Joseph Rose & Co., brass and steel basket grate made in Birmingham, possibly by Thomas Blockley (c. 1705-89), and marble hearth stone made by local stonemasons.
