Summary
A silver headdress from Keonthal, Himachal Pradesh. It is made up of chains with leaf-shaped tassels, in the centre there is a crescent shaped enamel pendant with a geometric design and baubles. The two chains and pendant are connected by a geometrical piece of silver with an inlay of turquoise, which also has a chain and hook that would have been fixed to the hair of the wearer. Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
