Summary
A walnut table, Kashmir, late 19th century. It has a foliated top with deep relief of roses. It has an octagonal stand which repeats the rose motif. The base of the legs are a geometric pattern. 'A table on an octagonal stand of carved and perforated walnut - Kashmir' (Christie's entry).
Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
