Summary
A carved walnut three fold screen, Kashmir, late 19th century. It is made from walnut and has relief carvings of leaves, vines and grapes; the pierced panels are made up from geometric patterns. The reverse of the screen is flat. 'A three fold carved and pierced walnut screen - Kashmir' (Christie's entry).
Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
