Summary
A Chinese famille rose pilgrim flask. The porcelain flask has a yellow ground with a floral pattern and two dragonet shaped lugs in gilt. On either side there are two circular panels; on one side a peacock is depicted, on the other there is a narrative scene of two warriors on horseback, a flag man and two men fighting with swords and shields. There is a sticker on the base of the flask that suggests that this piece was bought at A. Lansbury Liberty and Co on Regent Street, London. Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
