Summary
A plaque containing an address from the Southport Parliamentary Division given on the occasion of Lord Curzon's marriage. It is neo-gothic in style, with burgundy velvet arches with bronze mounts and enamel inlay of the Stockport coat-of-arms, British and American flags and family crest. 'A velvet arched plaque with applied bronze mounts and enamel coat-of-arms' (Christie's entry)
Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
