Summary
A blue velvet box with gold embroidery. It has a floral and leaf pattern in gold thread with the monograph of Lady Curzon that contains four pearls. It contains a second case that would have enclosed an address. 'A satin case with embroidery of gold and silver thread and coloured silks, containing an address - in velvet-covered box with gold and silver embroidery set with pearls - Benares' (Christie's entry)

Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
