Summary
A cloisonné tripod incense burner with brass lion heads for the two lugs and for the upper part of the three legs. It dates from the Qianlong period (1736 - 1795); a time in Chinese history when the finest cloisonné was produced. 'A cloisonné enamel vase on carved stand'(Christie's entry)
Provenance
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
