Summary
Lid for a Chinese incense burner in the shape of a boy holding a lotus bud and the elixir of life. He rides (facing left) on a kylin, a mythical animal, who is bringing him to a family who has been praying to Songzi Guanyin for a baby boy. Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
