Summary
Bell indicator frame - The mainframe of a servant's bell indicator, accompanied by three detachable covers. The brown painted frame is divided into three rectangular tiers, each with a centrally placed row of ten switch-like components carrying square white labels with a red star. When bells are rung corresponding switches move the red star labels to a downwards position, which are then revealed through the cover windows that are each labelled with a room name. There is a further switch to the right of each tier that resets the stars to their starting position.
Provenance
Purchased from the estate of the late Lord Wraxall with the assistance of the NHMF and donations from members and supporters.
