Unglazed and much perforated terracotta red earthenware pot comprising a tapering stem standing out of a shallow bowl and a container set at an angle of 45 degrees. Interpreted as a humidifying orchid planter for a tropical stove house.

Probably from Bateman's Orchid House at Knypersley, though found in storage in the basement below his Geological Gallery.
