The lens is marked "Taylor-Hobson Cooke Anastigmat Made in England Patent No 155640, 3 4 5.6 8 11 16, No 143398 5 inch Series XI." The top of the camera has a folding chimney viewfinder and the cover plate is embossed with the company logo and the front of this section has a plate marked " Special TP Ruby" The left side of the camera has in addition to the focus knob, a peg for attching a strap and, attached by two strong metal D rings, a leather hand strap. The right side has a matching peg and the shutter controls, a large bakelite knob for setting the speed from 1/10 - 1/1000 of a second and a lockable lever to hold the shutter open for viewfinding. The back of the camera has a small folding chimney style viewfinder which is removable and allows the 3 ¼" x 4 ¼" plates held in dark-slides to be inserted. The base of the camera has four metal stud feet and two holes tapped for different thread size tripod mounts.
