Summary
A mahogany and inlaid chair, English, circa 1900, the arched toprail inlaid with a classical lidded urn above Neo-classical vase and baluster-shaped slender splats, inlaid with satinwood paterae. The seat upholstered in buttoned green silk and raised on tapering square-section front legs with spade feet and ceramic castors. Inlaid throughout with boxwood lines and with a later loose cotton sateen cover of bunches of flowers and coral bands.

Given by Henry Hornyold Strickland (1890 – 1975) with Sizergh Castle and its estates in 1950.
